Timothy John Berners Lee was born on 8
June 1955 and grew up in London.
He studied physics at Oxford University
and became a software engineer.
He invented the World Wide Web (WWW).
He realised that the internet (a network of computers
across the world) could be used to share information.
Hypertext links two peices of text.
The difference between WWW and the internet is that the WWW is the share of information via websites on the internet (international network) ant the internet is simly the computers being connected.
Without the www being public today where would we be???
